Castro relinquishes the reins of power

...at least temporarily. Just the fact that he has done it "temporarily" means that his evil reins are loosening. He is an old man and cannot live forever.

Some blogs that are talking about this are:

Michelle Malkin reported last night that he might be dying, this morning I see that she has a pic up with his signature transferring power to his brother the Defense Minister.

Lots of information over at Babalu Blog. I visit Val's site a couple of times each week. He is a pretty talented writer and obviously extremely emotionally tied to events in Cuba.

VBSpurs gives us some insight as to what will happen when Castro dies.

Dean Esmay has a little on the Castro death watch. I tend to agree with him in that I really don't want to wish bad things on people, but if I did, Fidel Castro would be one of them.

I've just checked The Granma, the communist party newspaper in Cuba (at least the English translation on the web) and they have nothing yet. Doesn't surprise me.

There's not much at CNN about it yet. One story on the temporary transition and another at Yahoo. There are a couple of videos floating around as well, as lots of people in Miami are celebrating. From what I understand they are starting to do the same thing in Havana.

His 80th birthday is in two week. May he not live to see it. Or even better, maybe he will live to see his brother Raul cave to democratic interests and give up socialism. Wouldn't that be a bitch.
