...and although I am certainly not a scientist myself it fits in with most reputable scientist's findings that I have read.
Hurricane Forecaster William Gray reported at the National Hurricane Conference that he believes natural changes in ocean currents are responsible for the increased Atlantic hurricane activity of the last few years, NOT global warming. He is also predicting that we will start having a cooling off period in the next five to ten years.
He doesn't argue that carbon dioxide levels have been increasing in our atmosphere but notes that periods of increased hurricane activity started before the build-up of the gas. The changing of the oceans currents has been going on for millions of years and in no way can we be responsible for that.
