Updated - I installed the Akismet plugin for MT and disabled all of the built in stuff as well as a bunch of plugins to see if that would speed things up but the comment that I posted to this took 41 seconds to post. Thats is altogether way to damn long. I think I will email my provider and see if they have any suggestions.
Anyone familiar with Movabletype platform that might have a clue as to why commenting is so damn slow here? I visit plenty of sites with 10 or 20 times the comments that I have and it is quick and painless, but when you try to post a comment here it just drags and takes forever, so I end up getting duplicate comments because quite a few of us are sitting there clicking "post" again and again. It's not so bad on my other two sites but of course they don't receive the traffic that I do here. Even with that though Denny gets about five times the traffic that I do and his shit doesn't drag this bad when I comment over there.

I have changed some settings and am trying to use Akismet now, perhaps that will lighten the load.

Yeah, it is still taking forever. I am off Monday so maybe I can find a solution then.
I have optimized the sql database, perhaps that will speed things up.
By about six seconds. Still sucking.
I have emptied the log database to see if that helps at all as well.
