Grandfather Clock

My Mom and Dad have the coolest grandfather clock that I am hoping to eventually get. It used to belong to my grandmother and I know for a long time it wasn't working but I think they were planning on getting it fixed. I don't know for sure if they have yet or not, but even if it isn't working I would love to have it in my living room. It would go with the deep brown that the rest of my furniture is.

It looks a little like that one. I don't know what it is about grandfather clocks, but I do like them. I guess that it's like holding on to a piece of history. Clocks are one of those things that I don't like changing. Even with the clock faces I use on my desktop, they are usually analog and look somewhat old. I just don't like digital clocks for some reason. My alarm is a digital, but that is only because I need it to wake up. If I could find a decent old grandfather clock with built-in alarms I guess I would switch :)

I did find a web site that has really nice grandfather clocks, the site and number is 1-800-4CLOCKS Grandfather Clocks and much more stuff is there as well. The picture is a Howard Miller Chateau Grandfather Clock that they carry, but they also have Seth Thomas Clocks as well as Kieninger Clocks, Ridgeway Clocks, wall clocks and mantel clocks also.

Although I love the way that clocks look I don't really know a whole lot about them. For me it's purely for aesthetic reasons. I did learn a little bit about clocks though at the Clocks Blog. There is a post up that is appropriate for just about anything that you might want to purchase, not just clocks, and that is to Do the research before buying your clock. Very smart advice for just about anything.
