The Federal minimum wage is going up next week for the first time in ten years. So what effect is it going to have on your pocketbook if you already make more than minimum wage? Why, it's a big fat pay cut for 90% of the United States.
Try that increase on size folks. My menu prices at work went up correspondingly a couple of days ago to cover this increase, so the only people actually getting a raise is less than 10% of the workforce, and with their prices going up as well, it is a net effect of $0 for them after the first week or two, and higher cost of living for the rest of us.

That is so true. I wish more people realized that Federally mandated minimum wages hurt everybody.
