Stat Counters - Shadowscope

Stat Counters

After all of the work that Mark has been putting in, with EntryPost and now he has released Visitor Stats which is a visit counter plugin that resides locally and keeps track of the stats in the MT SQL database. One of the things I don't like about counters is that they are so unreliable. I get completely different numbers between z-extreme, sitemeter and mybloglog. It will be interesting to see what they look like tracked locally. Of course I can always look at Awstats in my cpanel, but this integrates into MT4 and should bring some pretty useful features later on.

Still waiting to see if one of the plugin authors will release a Mybloglog plugin similar to the one for Wordpress which inserts the mybloglog avatar into comments. If I could do more than hack clumsily at code I might be willing to take a whack at it.

I really like the site. Thanks for sharing!

I use FeedBurner stats. I also agree with crosschecking multiple stats counters. Even the Google AdSense impressions numbers don't match up every day. Guess there is a % margin either way.
