Ajax Comments For MT4 - Shadowscope

Ajax Comments For MT4

I'm testing out Ajax Comments for Movabletype here. It probably won't speed things up unfortunately but it posts a comment without refreshing the entire page, which may speed it up a tiny bit. I am still planning to move Shadowscope to my Bluehost account eventually but for the time being I am trying to get it going at least a little bit faster here. Check it out and tell me how it works.

I had to disable the spam protect portion of the deal as it keeps crapping out on me and telling me I have javascript disabled when I don't.

I have also just installed the default templates that come with it and left my inline preview out as well as the subscription link. I'll add it back in after I get this working properly. If it works right I should be able to add it into my main index page so that you can post a comment there.

It seems to be working very well. The only problem that I have noticed is that once you have commented the form disappears so you cannot comment again until the page has been refreshed. Not a real huge issue but sometimes I will post two or three comments in a row.

I have also taken some stuff out of the entry footer. Links to the comments since that is either right there or on the entry page, the permalink link, since that is accessible through the header, and trackbacks since I have them show automatically.

always read ur blog, :P

spam protection sucks anyway. good luck - just moderate as much as you can! :)

That's pretty much what I do. I use started using Akismet quite a while ago and like it but still occasionally have to go through the junk comments and re-enable a few.
