Thanks to Greg over at Rhymes With Right I came across this story at the Lone Star Times from a couple of days ago.
Supposedly according to the story Bill White, the 'commander' of the American Socialist Workers Party posted the following statement at the VNN forums. If you weren't aware, the ASWP is the Nazi party and from what I saw VNN is a racist hangout of some sorts. I didn't stay long enough to make any kind of distinction.
Comrades:
I have kept quiet about the Ron Paul campaign for a while, because I didn’t see any need to say anything that would cause any trouble. However, reading the latest release from his campaign spokesman, I am compelled to tell the truth about Ron Paul’s extensive involvement in white nationalism.
Both Congressman Paul and his aides regularly meet with members of the Stormfront set, American Renaissance, the Institute for Historic Review, and others at the Tara Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, usually on Wednesdays. This is part of a dinner that was originally organized by Pat Buchanan, Sam Francis and Joe Sobran, and has since been mostly taken over by the Council of Conservative Citizens.
I have attended these dinners, seen Paul and his aides there, and been invited to his offices in Washington to discuss policy.
For his spokesman to call white racialism a “small ideology” and claim white activists are “wasting their money” trying to influence Paul is ridiculous. Paul is a white nationalist of the Stormfront type who has always kept his racial views and his views about world Judaism quiet because of his political position.
I don’t know that it is necessarily good for Paul to “expose” this. However, he really is someone with extensive ties to white nationalism and for him to deny that in the belief he will be more respectable by denying it is outrageous — and I hate seeing people in the press who denounce racialism merely because they think it is not fashionable.
If this is even remotely true then Ron Paul has lost any respect I had for him. While I find that I don't agree with 100% of his values and political stands I do agree with him enough to support his positions. If he really is a racist then everything he stands for just went in the toilet, no matter how good of an idea they are.
Here are some thoughts though.
Is The guy who posted on the VNN forums actually Bill White, the commander of ANSWP? It quite possibly may be just some goon wanting to make Ron Paul look bad, knowing how rabid the right-wing Republicans are to discredit him. Hell, it could be someone from one of the other candidates camps. From what I did see on the forums the people hanging out over there were extremely pissed off about the post. Apparently they don't agree with him?
If Ron Paul really has attended meals with these racists and bigots where are the pictures? Don't tell me nobody has taken pictures of the congressman eating with Nazis. As prevalent as the MSM is in our day to day lives somebody has to have pictures. Until I see those it makes the statement extremely hard to swallow.
...
You know, I watched the Cavuto video where Ron Paul basically rebuked him and told him that he had no problem accepting the $500 that was connected to Stormfront and the more I think about it the more I dislike it. If Ron Paul were smart he would have nipped it in the bud and said "oh, hell no. We don't take money from racists". But he didn't. I can certainly understand and even agree with his reasoning that the money is better off in his hands than Stormfront's, but politically speaking he should have returned it or maybe donated it to charity. I think that Greg made this very point as well if I recall.
...
I was just reading over at the Washington Post about how Ron Paul might be willing to run as an independent if (more likely when) he doesn't receive the Republican nomination.
In one of the comment threads over at the Lone Star Times, they said that the Washington Post had picked up the story about Ron Paul meeting with racist leaders but I have yet to find it. Anyone else have a link to the story?
Just searched through Yahoo and Google as well to see if there is anything to it. Apparently the story can't be proven? Seems like a couple of days is more than enough time to out him if it's true.

The Lone Star Times has a history of attacking Paul with spurious claims.
Anyhow, here is a refutation of the current attacks:

I have tried to do some good, honest, indepth looking into the claims of racism by Ron Paul. I can find none.
I can find claims that comments he made were racist. I can find accusations but nothing backed up by facts. Most of the claims come as accusations taken from snipets from writings, taken out of context, of things that Ron wrote years ago. His taking of money that some think he should not have taken and therefore because they believe he should not have taken money from a racist organization Rep. Paul is automatically a racist. But no mention of the same type of thinking being applied to other candidates (if Obama or Clinto took money from known communists are they communist).
I have to say that much of what I have read is pure mudd slinging or pure backing of the man. Not much of substance on either side. Even this article lacks any real substance and should not be considered as an indictment of the man.
The only real thing brought about by this article is more unanswered questions, a smoke screen.
If the writer were to say similar things about say Winston Churchill being an acloholic and therefore not worthy of following.... But history shows that Winston Churchill was also an outstanding individual, a true leader.
All of this and I am not even a Ron Paul supporter, I like Fred Thompson myself.
I have to say insiders get endorsed and others play elsewhere!
"insiders get endorsed and others play elsewhere"
How very true. It's a pretty sad state of affairs. I'm still on the fence but from what I have seen in what little bit of research I have done Ron Paul is probably the most honest candidate running right now.
I have to agree with you Richard. There are so many dishonest candidates, on both sides. I don't know though if total honesty is the best presidential condition.
When I look at temperament, clarity of thoughts, likeability, personable, and other real world leadership qualities I am drawn back to Fred Thompson.
Fred is someone who has not only a broad range of experience but he has excelled in those things he has done and that should carry over into his actions as President. Fred also has a strong supporting cast he can draw on; again, carry over to the President looks good. We need someone in the office who is going to surround themselves with people that they can trust to guide them and will work for the nation not themselves.
The President is not a one person show.
