Stickball...

Yesterday afternoon we got all of the kids out in the backyard and they played a game of stickball with little footballs that I have sitting in my basement and brooms. It was hilarious.

Even the little ones got involved...

...and the big ones too. Somehow we managed to get all of the kids out of the house for awhile to have a bit of fun. The weather has been so weird here lately. One day it's extremely cold and the next it's in the seventies.

I haven't been outside yet but it's supposed to be raining all day, which will be nice. We still need quite a bit of rain to replenish the water table all over the south.

For a while everyone had a great time.

All was well until Michelle just about knocked herself unconscious running into the bottom of the back deck. If only that thing were a couple of feet higher off the ground. Hell, I though she had killed herself. I was on the deck when she hit and it shook from the impact.

he wasn't the only one to get involved in the game, but she was the only one to injure herself and has a bruise the size of a two-by-four to prove it. That's only because I wasn't playing, otherwise there would probably be two injuries.

I pretty much just hung out and took pictures.

I received the gift of some cash from my waitresses in one of the stores and went out and bought a monopod with it. I have a tripod but it's about 30 years old and extremely heavy. Now I have something to take on trips with me that I can use and not feel like I am carrying forty pounds of metal.

Now I can hear the rain beating down outside. Makes me want to go back to bed for a couple of hours. I had originally planned on sleeping in a bit late this morning but when I reset the alarm for an hour later than usual I forgot to set both of them. The wife woke me up at the usual 4:30 and here I am sitting and sipping my coffee. So much for sleeping late.

RePete even got to pitch for a while during the game. This was a pretty good throw. She actually got it off the ground and flying in the right direction pitching to her brother the Marine.
