Officials at Haleakala National Park on Maui have closed the road to the summit because of snow, ice and high winds.
According to the visitor center at park headquarters, the road was closed at 5:45 this morning and is shut down until further notice.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the summit of Haleakala and the summit areas on Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the big island until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
One to three inches of snow may fall in areas today (remember it's still Tuesday there) with another couple of inches tonight possible.

I guess it's a good thing we are having this global warming trend, or should I say "climate change". The west coast, the mid-west, all with more snow than normal. The southeast with lower than normal temperatures, Hawaii, China. Shoot, we'd all be ice cubes if it wasn't for them jerks with their stupid debunked hockey stick theory...
