Police have arrested and charged a suspect with capital murder in the shooting death of Auburn University student Lauren Burk.
Courtney Larrell Lockhart has been charged with capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder duing a robbery and capital murder during a rape according to assistant police chief Tommy Dawson.
He was taking into custody during a routine traffic stop in Phenix City Alabama on Friday. Phenix city is on the eastern border of Alabama, connected with Columbus, Georgia.
Somehow the police had the suspects photo, enhanced with some help from NASA which helped to locate him. The police have declined to say how they got the photograph or why they think he committed the crime.
According to the family, well-wishers and those who want to honor Lauren Burk can do so by donating to her favorite charities which are The Invisible Child and the American Kidney Foundation.
