I'm sure that anyone that has watched the news or listened to the radio today has heard at least a bit about this. The wife is on the mailing list for Move America Forward and received an email earlier in the day which she forwarded to me this afternoon when I got home from work.
According to CNN "Letters claiming responsibility for the bombing of a military recruiting station in New York's Times Square arrived in the Washington offices of several members of Congress on Thursday, just hours after the blast, authorities said."
Mayor Bloomberg was on television giving out a statement earlier:
The Associated Press also released video in which residents of New York say that the blast reminds them that they are vulnerable to a terrorist attack at any time.
The police are looking for a hooded bicyclist that was seen on a surveillance tape before the 3am bombing at the recruiting station, according to the FBI.
Apparently the letters sent to several members of congress contain at least one picture of the recruiting station prior to the attack and a man standing in front of the station with his arms spread out and he's attached his political manifesto.
What that manifesto is I don't know, but since he/they are using terroristic means to get at it it doesn't matter.
What I really hate about it is not that it's unpatriotic (it is) or dangerous (it is) or could have killed someone (it could have) but the fact that this just gives our big brother government more ammunition for controlling our dwindling liberties. Bombing shit isn't free speech and the only message it sends is that you are a moron more interested in getting press than making a point.
With freedom comes responsibility and you have to responsibly use your freedoms or lose them.
