The police arrested a second suspect early this morning in connection with the murder of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student Eve Carson.
They received an anonymous tip last night and shortly after midnight surrounded a house in Durham, North Carolina. After a four hour standoff 17-year-old Lawrence Alvin Lovette surrendered peacefully to police.
Lovette is the second suspect arrested in the investigation of the shooting. Wednesday police picked up Demario Atwater from a house in Durham after receiving a tip that he was at the home. He has been charged with first-degree murder in Eve Carson's death.
According to CNN, Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Curran told reporters that they believe Lovette was driving Eve Carson's SUV and Atwater in the back in photos from an ATM where they attempted to use her bank card.

Eve Carson's family may have owned slaves in Athens, Georgia. Plus, word on the streets is Eve was buying drugs and playing Privileged White Flaunt - where privileged whites drive through underprivileged black neighborhoods at dangerous hours to tease poor blacks with their possessions.

If her ancestors were the biggest slave-owning family in the south how would that make it her fault or in any way excuse the sorry sacks of shit that killed her?
As far as privileged white flaunt, that sounds like something somebody made up to excuse them from behaving poorly. It's like saying that a rape is the victim's fault because of what they are wearing. There may be things that you can do to lessen or increase the chance of harm, but that in no way excuses rape or murder.
Attitudes like those on the websites you linked to, along with people like Al Sharpton and the Right Reverand Jessie Jackson are what keep racism fresh in the minds of young black people more so than anything any white person could say and do.

Certainly not. It is unfortunately still very prevalent in society. The problem lies when people find racism where there is none. Dude, I hate it that we had slavery, it's an awful fact of life. It's also an awful fact of life that there are horrific things going on in Africa right now. Bloodbaths and genocide by the very descendants of the same black people that sold their brothers into slavery.
I hate the fact that my ancestors owned slaves but that doesn't change the fact that I have never owned slaves and have a firm belief in the diversity of our country. All in fairness though, if you can find anyone alive that I or my ancestors ever owned I will be more than happy to pay them reparations. Until then all you folks shouting about it need to shut the fuck up.
