Green Thumb Sunday

It's been a couple of weeks since I have had the chance to participate so i figured I would schedule this ahead of time while I actually have an off day. That seems to be the thing to do if I want something up at a particular time.

Small Clematis

This Clematis sits at the base of the support right at the edge of my back deck, near the smaller pond. It's pretty interesting in that it has never gotten very large. My other two span the trellis that is next to the larger pond and the soil where it grows is much poorer and it gets less watering. This one has been in the dirt for two or three years and just doesn't seem to want to get much bigger...

I spent the greater part of Friday evening working in the yard planting both seeds as well as seedlings that should give me plenty of Green Thumb Sundays over the next few months. I planted a cherry tree, and apple tree, banana trees, kiwi, pomegranate, several different flowering vines I have never dealt with, such as pipevine and a few others as well as some more tomatoes, cucumbers and squash (because the wife likes squash). It was a nice way to stay busy while the wife is out of town.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

But, oh it's still ever so pretty. Love the huge purple blossoms.

My GTS photos are shared. Hope you can stop by.

It's great that you live in a warm enough climate that you can plant such a great variety of plants ... I'd love to plant some of those but they wouldn't survive our winter although they'd probably love our summers!

BTW I'm not sure why As the Garden Grows was loading faster for you .. it's a good thing but I don't know why. I think I removed Blogrush and maybe another widget or advertiser from the sidebar - perhaps that helped.

Looks really lovely - how is it doing now. I bet with all the recent lovely weather it's looking amazing now.
