I took this photo at work a couple of weeks ago and had meant to post it (along with a short story) then but decided that it would be better served in this week's PhotoHunt, "What Is That?"

Like I said I shot this out behind one of my restaurants while I was doing some cleaning earlier in the week.
Any idea what it is? Guess in the comments and if you really want to know, it's in the extended entry and down the page under the links.
This is also my Saturday Open Trackback post for the weekend. If you would like a link to your post featured here send a trackback to this entry and it will appear below.

So didja guess?
I was cleaning the back porch in one of my restaurants a couple of weeks ago when I noticed what this was in hanging on the wall above the door. It took a few minutes of spraying with the hose to remove the entire Dirt Dauber's nest off of the wall and several of these came out. It's the larva of a Dirt Daubber. Nasty creatures those.

I thought it was a child's toy 'cap' bullet for a toy gun. Oh dear! LOL
My photo hunt this week is a sequence of photos and I open a purchase I made at Michael's Crafts shop.

I would have guessed a bullet
Whatever it is, I hope it isn't edible. It looks yucky!
Who would have guessed that is a larva. I thought it was a bullet or something :D
Nice one.
It looked like a rusty bullet to me...a part of a dirt dauber..very interesting!
I thought it might be something somebody smoked on the sly...
I wasn't at all sure that I wanted to know, and after reading the rest of the entry I'm none the wiser :) What's a Dirt Dauber when he's at home?
Dirt Daubers are also more commonly known as Mud Daubers. Flying insects like wasps and hornets
