I missed this back at the end of July and wanted to post it as it is pertinent to the Murder of Maria Lauterbach. Her mother testified before congress back at the end of July asking for more effective military training on sexual assault.
I still haven't heard any more news in whether or not Cesar Laurean will end up being returned to the U.S. or not. Last I heard he had filed an appeal on the subject.
Shortly after posting this I came across another story that is remotely related to the case. One of the interns for prosecutors in the Maria Lauterbach case has been arrested and charged with embezzlement and larceny. An investigation into some blog postings that contained information that was not released to the public led to the arrest.
