Movabletype Issues

Update - Comments seem to be working now. I was up emailing back and forth until about 2am this morning and just got back up. Something was wrong with my comment response template, it had been replaced with an older version. Still not sure how. My host says they haven't done any kind of upgrades, so heck if I know. I ran into a couple of issues with upgrade stuff back about six months ago but haven't seen them in recent versions of MT.

Still haven't gotten all my issues fixed but the important one was comments. Let me know if you have any other issues with it.

Also, I currently have the blog rebuilding all of the entry pages so that the comment links point to the correct script, it will most likely take a half an hour since I have over 5,000 posts. It's currently 7:50 so probably after 8:30am all comments should be back to normal.

...

I noticed that I haven't received any comments since yesterday morning and while that was strange I just figured it had been a slow day. I have since received an email from the Sassy Southerner who has informed me you get errors when posting comments. I had the same results when I tried.

I think that my host upgraded the MT software with an upgrade I didn't need because comments and some other stuff has been broken since Friday. I have submitted a ticket and hopefully it will be fixed shortly.

If you've tried to comment and couldn't get through I apologize, it will be fixed soon.

OH man, I am sorry you had to stay up half the night.

That doesn't even particularly bother me, it's the time I had to spend fooling with the stuff in order to get it fixed when I could have been doing something else a bit more productive than fixing my site.

I know what ya mean. I get so aggravated when something breaks and I have to fix it. Glad to see you back up and everything's running again. I am addicted to your site and the stories you run on here. :)

I certainly appreciate it.

It is frustrating when something doesn't act the way it should. My host is pretty cool and they respond pretty quickly to requests but it really irks me when the tech says something about my plugins being out of date when I am paying extra to another company under the same umbrella with some of the same people, to keep my plugins up-to-date. Why am I wasting an extra $10 a month when I am the one updating the plugins myself? I understand it's not a lot of money but I already pay $30 a month for my hosting and during busy months like last month and then this month is already shaping up to be I have to pay an extra $10 for every 10GB of bandwidth that I add. That means I paid $60 a month for August and still had to do my own troubleshooting.

They do offer a high bandwidth plan with no Cpanel that I may switch to if my traffic remains where it's at. I may bitch about it but overall the service has been great and they even moved me to a faster server a few months ago because of the amount of traffic I get.
