Charter is doing another contest and this time they are giving away the greatest father's day gift! The grand prize is a 65" LCD HDTV flat panel television, The Charter Bundle plus HD free for one year. Four finalists are also going to receive the Charter Bundle plus HD free for one year as well.

What's included with the Charter Bundle? Charter Digital Cable's biggest value package with over 100 digital channels, a bunch of them in HD and including On Demand. It also includes Charter High Speed Internet and Charter Telephone. I have the the biggest value package as well as high speed Internet and have had them for several years now. It's much faster than DSL and I swear by it (when I'm not swearing about it)...Actually it's a pretty good deal and fairly reliable over the last few years as well. When they first started rolling it (Internet) out in my area there were some glitches but it seems to have pretty much worked out all of those.

So how do you get to enjoy Father's Day in HD? Just head over to the site and read the official rules. Basically you want to head over and register with your and your father's email addresses and other personal information and once you've registered you can submit a brief essay that answers the question "Why does your dad deserve the nation's biggest HDTV?" Heck, your essay doesn't even have to be as long as this post. Real simple stuff here folks, just DO IT. Entries have to be in by midnight Friday night (that would be tomorrow). Make sure and read the sweepstakes rules and FAQs that are provided for more information.

Face it. I'm. a. pig.

Just ask my wife, she's had to live with me for twenty years and it only gets worse :)

I can't think of too many things more fun to watch than a bunch of frolicking cheerleaders unless it's a bunch of cheerleaders frolicking in person. W00t! You'll know when you've been hit by this hot cheery bunch

Check this video out...

OMG. I laughed my tail off watching some of the video at their site over at Squad81. Not only that but you can send out a cheer to other people (or just hang out and play with them yourself as well). Cheers for great happenings in a person's life such as Can't get a date, you suck at sports, you're ugly and finally got lucky. If I could embed some of the cheers over here, believe me I would. As it is you need to head over to Squad81 and check them out yourself.

While you're there check out the sweepstakes they are offering as well. Sign up and if you win the Squad81 Cheer Squad will be invading your space and bringing along with them a new wardrobe full of Squad81 clothes. I don't know if I'm eligible or not after writing about them but I darn sure entered the contest.

...time to go to work, I can't stick around all day playing with cheerleaders.

Renuzits is holding a Transform Your Home promotion to give away a $20,000 home makeover. Sweet. $20 grand is quite a bit of money to makeover a room. Since we are going to be redoing our master bedroom this summer, that dough would certainly come in handy redesigning the room.

The thing is, and I think I mentioned in in no uncertain terms a couple of days ago, my house stinks. I'm sure it's not as bad as I make it out to be but today is my eighth day without a cigarette and after having lived in this house for eight years it just plain stinks. While some of that will permanently be part of the house, replacing the carpets, curtains and furniture would go a long way toward making the place smell much better. I may have to go get some of the Renuzit air fresheners just to help when I go to the gym later on this morning.

I would love to put hardwood in our room. Just rip up the carpet and padding and then replace it with a nice hardwood floor, some wooden blinds and a new bed. I also want to end up getting a nice TV for the wall as well as a new HTPC media center. This is pretty much what I want to do anyway, but getting it for free would be even better :) I want our room to feel comfortable but not cluttered any more. We have a decent sized house but it always feels cluttered.

Anyway, about the contest. Basically all you have to do is head over to the Renuzit's Triscents web site, sign up and be sure to follow the official rules. Just upload a video or essay explaining why you should be selected to win the home makeover. Entries are going to be judged on a convincing explanation and demonstrating why you need the makeover and how Renuzits can help.

Starting on May 8th you can go back to the web site and vote for your favorite submission in the entry gallery. If you do enter the contest, it's quite OK to post about it and make sure your readers go over and vote for you!

The only thing that my son in the Marine Corps has asked for Christmas besides bus tickets to come home for the holidays is a digital camera. That would be a pretty nice gift for him and amazingly enough Neil Duckett is holding a competition to win his Canon IXY Digital 1000 camera. It's a pretty sweet deal. The IXY Digital 1000 is a 10 megapixel and with the charger, software and cables runs at around $450. Pretty sweet contest if you ask me!

Don't forget to stop by his site and check out the contest!

Some of my favorite action movies are the Die Hard series with Bruce Willis. I haven't seen the latest one on the big screen because I rarely if ever go see movies unless it is something truly spectacular. Tomorrow I may go see The Mist when I get off work since the wife is taking the two Marines back to Camp LeJeune and I will be at home by myself anyway. Oh yeah, I don't remember if I mentioned it or not but a friend of the boy came home with him for Thanksgiving. We were happy to have him here.

Anyway, back to Die Hard. Right now AAMCO is sponsoring a contest to win a trip for two for a four day trip to Hollywood and to spend the day with the Live Free or Die Hard stuntman. All you have to do is head on over to the web site and sign up for their money-saving FREE oil change offer and register to win the trip. They ask for your name, email address and zip code and then send you to a page where you can print out the coupons. THAT'S it. Nothing else to fill out and you don't have to give out your phone number.

I've only been to Hollywood once about 22 years ago and it was a pretty cool albeit short trip. I would love to go visit once more now that I am a bit older. That and the fact that getting a free vacation is even better than paying for one Happy

While things out in Hollywood don't tend to change very fast, from what I understand the area has really cleaned up since I was there in the mid to late eighties. The trip would be cool but I would also be interested in picking the brain from a guy that's worked in the movies. Being a stuntman may not be the most glamorous job in Hollywood but being behind the scenes like that has got to be a blast.

I have played around with a couple of different GPS apps for my Samsung i760 and wanted to get recommendations from other folks that use it as well. Let me know in the comments or in a trackback what your favorite software is and why. Requirements needs to be that it will run on a Windows Mobile 6 device and be able to use a Bluetooth GPS device as well as be under $100 and have a trial I can check out prior to purchasing.

As a matter of fact, let's make this a contest. Best one gets $25 payable through PayPal or an iTunes gift certificate. The contest will end on December 1st and I will pick the winner by the 10th so that I have time to judge which app I like the best. I will post this to my other sites as well in order to get a bit of exposure. Use my contact form at Shadowscope to let me know that you have entered after you comment or send the ping, that way I can insure that it's not caught in my spam folder.

I guess this must be my lucky month. As I mentioned in my email to Online Cash Flow, it's too bad the month is almost over. Earlier I won a logo design for TheAppDotNet from the Prize Blog, and just tonight I received an email from Jeremy that I had won the Want Something for Nothing contest that I wrote about here.

The prize is a free blog review, a two month featured text link and a new banner design. I like my banner so I gave him a couple of suggestions, but the other stuff is pretty cool. I am glad I entered now. Sometimes it seems almost a waste of time to enter contests and I skip them but that week I entered several. Persistence pays off. Now if I could just win the Megamillions...

When the Marine was home he bought himself an Xbox-360. I was sort of hoping he would get a Nintendo Wii but alas he chose to go with Microsoft. There is a chance however for you to win one should you so wish, and help spread the word about the A-T CureTour at the same time.

Ultra-runner Tim Borland is running 63 marathons in 63 days in order to raise funds and awareness for the A-T Children’s Project in their quest for a cure or life-improving therapies for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare, neurodegenerative disease that affects children, giving them the combined symptoms of cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and cancer. Children with A-T — born seemingly healthy — are usually dependent upon wheelchairs by the age of 10 and often do not survive their teens.

To run with Tim, join a tailgate party, or make a donation, please visit the A-T CureTour website. There, you can also view the daily video blog produced by filmmakers who are making an independent documentary on the A-T CureTour and enter a contest to Win a Nintendo Wii.

You can get more information about the contest as well as find out more information on A-T as well if you head over to the linked site above. It's a great cause and getting the awareness out like this is a no-brainer.

That's the title of a contest being run by Online Cash Flow, a blog dedicated to learning about making money online. It's simple to enter, all you have to do is put up a post linking to the Something for Nothing contest post and make sure to send a track-back and/or email Jeremy so that he knows you've entered. Prizes are (one winner takes all):

A free ReviewMe Review
Free Header Banner Design
Free 2 month featured text link.

What a great way to send a bit of traffic to your blog just for spending five minutes entering a contest.

H/T to the Prize Blog.
