I ran across this thanks to Matt and sort of liked it. He has one of the sites I meant to add to the blogroll last week but forgot :(

Perhaps now that it's linked right here I will get around to moving over to the right eventually.

Anyway, check it out.

So I'm watching Breaking Bad on TV earlier tonight and this commercial comes on with this dude's social security number on the side of a van or billboard or something. I don't remember all of the details of the commercial but I did remember the name of the company. Lifelock. The CEO's name is Todd Davis and that really is his social security number. After visiting their web site I remember reading an article a couple of weeks ago about a guy that is in jail now for using Mr. Davis' Social Security number to get a loan.

Lifelock protects consumer's names and credit. For $10 a month they protect your name with a $1,000,000 service guarantee.

Basically they get the credit bureaus to set fraud alerts for you. Every three months or so they do the same thing. With the fraud alert set it makes it harder for people to get credit with your name and social security number.

After that they request that your information be removed from all of the pre-approved credit card and junk mail lists and they keep making the requests as they expire. I wasn't aware that they expire until tonight, which explains why I have started getting junk mail again lately.

Lifelock orders your credit reports and they get sent for you. Obviously this is free and you can do it yourself, but do you?

If you ever lose or have your wallet or purse stolen Lifelock will contact each credit card and bank to get cards canceled and new ones sent out at no additional cost.

The biggest benefit about joining Lifelock is that if your identity is ever stolen they will do whatever needs to be done to clear and recover your good name. Lawyers, investigators, whatever. They will even replace any money lost as a result of the identity theft. THAT'S where that $1 Million guarantee comes in!

A friend of mine has an office in the town just south of where I work and he has recently had some renovations done on the place. He also had a pretty extensive security system put in as well. One of the things they installed that I think he was ripped off on was a methane gas detector. Why the heck would they need to install one of those at his office. I'm still not clear on that but I did tell him to ask them why. It just doesn't make sense to spend money on something you don't really need.

I have at least 20 more posts I want to write and schedule for the weekend, probably five more to get paid for on different sites, house cleaning to do, dinner to figure out but there are the Netflix envelopes sitting there all lonely on the counter.

'F' it. I think maybe 28 Weeks Later is calling since the wife won't watch it with me, THEN I can get back to work :)

I spent the morning reading news and posting blogs to various different sites. I had hoped to sleep in this morning but I was awakened when the girls were getting ready. I think I am going to pick up the house a bit and then maybe take a bit of a nap. I haven't had the chance to do that in quite some time and it would be pretty nice.

I'm sure I will be back online later this afternoon. I need to get a couple of posts up for this weekend such as the Saturday Photohunt and such as well as some other stuff I've been meaning to do.

I already know the history behind Halloween and how we as Christians did what we always do best in taking another culture's festivals and perverting them into something else, but Hotforwords does a pretty darn good job at describing how Halloween came about.

I will also be posting this at my other three sites to get the word out. The Prize blog is sponsoring a contest that's extremely easy to enter. All you have to do is write an entry and link to the contest and the Prize Blog itself. Can't get much easier than that.

The grand prize is a logo custom designed by the SOS Factory for their blog and one runner up gets $20 payable via paypal.

Shower Shock Caffeinated Soap. Woo hoo. Either that or the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock. Maybe both.

Or is it a lady that looks like a dude? Beejus only knows...

No real reason, but I was looking at shades the other day. With my vision plan I get a new set of lenses each year and a new set of frames every other (if I need them of course). I have a set of reading glasses that I don't wear enough, another in my desk as extras, and a pair of sunglasses that I wear all the time. I was looking at the Wiley X shades believe it or not. Not that I necessarily need them right now since I totaled my last bike, but they would be kind of cool, and sooner or later (sooner if gas prices keep going up) I will bump up my life insurance and get another bike.
