Dubai Apartments

Dubai Apartments is a site that deals with furnished apartments in Dubai as well as other short term rentals and all kinds of apartments.

The city of Dubai is the main city located in the eastern Arabian Peninsula located within the United Arab Emirates, one of which is also known as Dubai. Dubai is a pretty big business hub in the Middle East and is also a fairly popular tourist destination in the area.

dubai

Dubai Apartments is located at www.dubaiapartments.biz and as I mentioned previously is a provider of apartments in Dubai. They have many options to choose from whether you are looking for a furnished apartment for a short time or nice luxury hotel apartments Dubai has them available and Dubai Apartments can help you find them.

According to their web site they have the largest inventory of apartments available on or off the web for short term rentals in Dubai regardless of whether it is for a stay on the beach, a villa or something temporary to stay in during business meetings. They can also help find an apartment that will fit your budget on all ends of the spectrum.

Immediately on the front page of the web site you can see some of the listings in US $ with full descriptions, number of bedrooms and other amenities as well as the general location unlike some hotel and apartment sites that show the general price but that's about it.

You can also search for an apartment at Dubai Apartments with criteria including the rental type, location, number of bedrooms, currency, the property type and of course the date range when you are going to be in Dubai.

There is a separate link on the site for short term rentals and you can list the hotel apartments as well as just about any other type of temporary residence that you might be interested in.

If you OWN property in Dubai then Dubai Apartments makes it easy for you to list your property with them and start making money. Being able to use a self catering Dubai apartment rental service like this is quick and easy. They provide the space to list the property in a professional and organized space and they can get it listed in less than an hour once they approve your property and account with them. They also make it easy for possible renters to contact you without releasing your personal email address or information. They keep records of bookings on your property and make it a breeze to set rental rates based on the season or any other special events.

Pulling Out The First Amendment Card...

I was reading the comments at another site where they were talking about people that make money from paid links getting spanked by Google for it. Sure, it might be irritating and it may cut into my money and all that but in the grand scheme of things, who cares?

One of the commenters made the statement that Google doesn't like people making money unless it's them (possibly true) and that maybe they need to read the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. No offense there asshat, but maybe it's YOU that needs to read it. Here, let me help you:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Pray tell me if you can, exactly what the fuck this has to do with a privately own business not wanting to pay you for advertising for people? How exactly has the government oppressed  your free exercise and your beliefs in this instant?

Don't get me wrong, what Google did was not exactly fair, but that's the way it is in real life and quoting the Constitution of the United States when you have obviously never bothered to fucking read it is just plain stupid and irritating.

Summer House Substance Abuse Center

* Sponsored by Summer House.

One of the scariest parts of getting clean from drugs and alcohol is the withdrawal. Just the physical and mental task of actually putting it down and going through withdrawal symptoms can make the hardiest shudder. It's a horrible feeling of being sick and shaking, along with nausea and even worse make it very difficult to quit even under the most ideal circumstances. DT's or Delirium Tremens are pretty awful and can even be deadly. The easiest way to quit using drugs is to taper down over a period of time and let the body adjust. The big problem with that is that if it were so easy, people would be doing it without help every day.

Most of the treatment centers that I know of, at least locally, tend to lock a person up and expect them to quit cold turkey. That's pretty difficult and even if they make it, the recovery rate is pretty small. That's where Summer House comes in. Going through drug rehab is tough enough as it is, why can't it be made so that the person going through detox is more comfortable? Summer House, a dignified substance abuse center thinks it can!

They make the process of detox easy by substituting the drugs with a pharmaceutical 'cocktail' that is gradually brought down to let the body get used to the idea of being clean again. After the process of physical detoxification is over THEN, and on then, can the addict begin the process of recovery with a clear sense of urgency and renewed purpose.

The Summer House is a comfortable and friendly place, with no pressure, in a relaxed non-treatment atmosphere so that the addict can cope better with the idea of getting clean. If you or someone you know needs to get clean why don't you go check out their web site where you can gain more information, as well as contact numbers to speak with someone live that can supply you with the info you need.

Some Reasons to Live Green

While I don't believe that global warming is something that we have caused or is any way anything other than a natural occurrence in the cycle of earth changes that we go through and the whole global warming scare is really an embarrassment to the entire scientific community I do think that there are some things we need to be doing that are pretty imperative. Pollution and the misuse of our natural resources that needs to stop. There are certain things we need to start doing as a society in order to conserve our natural resources and keep our world clean. Some of those include solar and wind power, both in our homes AND our businesses, much less clear-cutting of our trees. It's not impossible to build and keep the majority of the green lands. Just look at places such as Hilton Head, South Carolina for example.

live greener products

One company that is really trying to make a difference in our lives and is truly dedicated to changing the way we live by selling environmental products is GreenandMore.com. They even practice what they preach by using 100% recycled cardboard boxes, and on-site the use entirely green products such as recycled office supplies and kitchen goods.

From products such as occupancy-sensored powered light switches that work very well with my home automation system to solar powered security lights for the outside to help lower my power bills, CF (compact fluorescent) light bulbs that burn longer and use less energy, induction heat cooktops, portable and semi-portable solar chargers for electronics such as cell phones, even simple stuff such as dryer vent closure systems that don't let cool and warm air escape when the dryer isn't in use. Not only are products like this beneficial to the environment but they save us money on our power bills as well. With the fact that the price of crude oil just seems to keep increasing, every dollar I can save counts.

With the drought that we have been in for the last few years in the southeast, one of the things that the wife and I have discussed is using a water collection system. Of course my answer to that is to cut hole in the top of Home Depot buckets and paint them black, but GreenandMore.com has a much more elegant solution in the converted olive containers they are using in their water collection system. They also have gutter rain water diverters to help facilitate the water going into gardens or storage containers. Considering that I have been under a 100% watering ban most of the year they certainly would have helped. I did manager to keep my tomatoes and peppers alive by putting coolers on the back porch whenever it rained, but their's is a much more elegant solution than having five or six big coolers sitting open. Not only that but the water storage container needs to be sealed in order to keep mosquito larvae out.

If you shop at GreenandMore.com they currently have a discount going on just in case you can't view the graphic for some reason. If you use the code GREEN10 at checkout prior to 12/31/2007 you get 10% off your entire order.

The Alzheimer's Foundation eStore

Over the last few months I have written a few times about the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and some of the really great things that they do to help people with Alzheimer's disease as well as trying to find a cure for it. Alzheimer's is not a normal part of aging but is the most common cause of dementia in people 65 or older. It's a progressive, degenerative disease that attacks the neurons, which results in the loss of memory, language skills and behavioral changes. There are ways that you can help though. While donations to the Alzheimer's Association are necessary for research on the disease, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America has a mission which is to 'provide optimal care and services to individuals confronting dementia, and to their caregivers and families --through member organizations dedicated to improving quality of life".

Can you imagine facing dementia all by yourself, with nobody to care for you or about you? Flat out, that would suck. There isn't any other way to put it. Fancy words aside (who needs them anyway) being alone in a time of need is pretty awful but losing your mind with no help and nobody to care for you is worse.

One of the ways that the Alzheimer's Foundation of America helps people out is through donations but another way that the foundation can ensure quality care for people suffering from the disease is to buy a holiday gift through the Alzheimer's Foundation eStore. They have a high quality beautiful sterling silver necklace at a decent price, along with a matching bracelet and lapel pin that will show you care and support those with Alzheimer's.

Along with the jewelry is a more practical gift, which is a four part DVD training program for family & professional caregivers, "Your Time to Care: Basic Skills for Caring for Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias at Home." The training video is produced by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and is a step-by-step educational program that's been put together to help give family members as well as professionals some effective training in hands-on care in the home. It includes easy to follow content, practical tips and insight from family members and professionals already dealing with the disease. The DVD program is just under $35 and if you or someone you know is effected by the disease, this would be a pretty useful tool to have at your disposal.

Proceeds from the sale of the products at the eStore go to support the programs and services of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America as well as it's member organizations.

Parking in London

* Sponsored by Parklet

Finding a good safe place to park your auto long term can be an serious issue. Rent Parking in London is a much cheaper solution to finding a place to keep your car than local storage companies, contract parking or season ticket parking. Parklet has almost 10,000 parking spaces and garages available for monthly rental in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, as well as all other UK cities and towns where you may reside or be traveling.

Parklet was founded after the observations of it's members having their cars stolen, vandalized, not having the right amount of change to park, extremely high pricing when you can find a place to park at all, and having most public car parks full by 7:30 in the morning. The last thing anyone wants to have to deal with first thing in the morning when they are on the way to work is finding some place to park. I enjoy being able to just park my car and get to work on time without being frustrated before I actually get there.

If you have a spare parking space at your house, in your garage or apartment block or maybe in your company car park, Parklet offers a nice hassle free way to rent out your spaces and make a bit of money at the same time. Rather than having to deal with the advertising yourself, let Parklet handle the job and just sit back. They handle finding the tenants, getting the contracts signed and even collecting the monthly rent on your behalf.

They also will act as a sales agent for parking spaces and garages all throughout the UK, just get in touch with them if you are interesting in selling your spaces.

Too Little Time...

Once I went back to work last night I ended up having to stay until about 12:30 this morning. My senior vice president is apparently paying a visit this morning and they will just have to enjoy his company without me Happy

Thank goodness for small favors.

The store that I opened her in Temple is open one year today. I stopped in last night on the way home to say hello and see how they are doing and apparently they are having a sort of a carnival this evening with a pumpkin carving contest. We will be taking the girls once they get home from school, and will most likely have supper up there as well. Some days I miss being a single unit manager very much. The time constraints that I am under now are horrendous and there is much more responsibility. I have about 100 or so employees not including my managers and even after over six months I still have days where I feel like I am way in over my head. Guess I just need to quit whining and get the fuck over it.

The Marine apparently had his cell phone stolen a few days ago, so I called and put a lock on the account and now he is wanting the same phone that I have, the Motorola Q9 m. I have been trying to find him the best deal and need to drive into Carrollton this morning to see what kind of deal they can give me. So far it looks like if I do it online it will save him quite a bit of money if he just opens his own account, but I may be able to get him a decent deal at the store. I just don't feel like making the drive and have been procrastinating since I woke up shortly after nine this morning. That and it's cold as hell.

I need to get going soon and get back. The house needs some cleaning and although I am pretty whooped from this week I need to at least straighten up a bit. The office furniture in my corner of the living room is a wreck, with all sorts of stuff just laying around. I also need to make some money at some point in the next day as well as get online with the web site at work and get some of my continuing education modules finished. Then I need to finish setting up the Halloween decorations for tomorrow, although I may wait to do that until Tomorrow morning.

I think I am awake enough to venture out, so will drive to Verizon and see if I can get him a new phone now.

Unique Hair Restoration

* Sponsored By Dr. Shapiro's Hair Institute

I used to be very interested in hair restoration and transplants. Although I could pretty much give a flying hoot now a lot of guys do care very much. It's their manliness and reputation. There are all different types of hair loss remedies and I suppose your results will vary using them. Heck, I even tried them in my mid to late twenties when I first started noticing my receding hairline. I don't know if they worked or not but I sure did think so at the time. There are also plenty of hair loss clubs and clinics to go to. The big problem is that you have to take the word of someone getting paid as to whether it actually works or not.

That's one of the cool things about Dr Shapiro's Hair Institute in Delray Beach and Hollywood Florida. He will actually arrange for you to meet with prior patients who've had a hair transplant so that you can talk with them and see first hand the results of their hair growth.

He has had 18 years of surgical skill performing hair transplants and Dr Shapiro and his staff are able to harvest more grafts, which means less sessions with the doctor, minimizes scarring and lets you get the most dense growth possible.

The big thing about all of the FDA approved hair loss treatments is that if you are genetically prone to hair loss (it comes from the mother's side of the DNA chain) the treatments may help if you start early and use it often. That pretty much means that you need to start using it before your hair starts falling out. If you already have lost hair the only way to get it back is through hair transplants.

Massage Therapy

Earlier this year one of my friends who has been a co-worker for the last 15 years, at times my boss and at times a colleague, decided to leave our company and start his own massage therapy business. I am not so sure that it is necessarily the right thing for him but he certainly seems to enjoy it much more than he did working with us and he is much calmer now. It's not the way to retire a millionaire but money isn't everything and if you are good at it you can certainly make a comfortable living.

One of my best friends for the last 24 years is also a massage therapist. She was going to school when we were roommates back in the eighties and it's what she's done for a living since then. I can remember being practiced on, and that was pretty cool. I'm not sure why, maybe it's because we were so young, but it seemed more the route for her than it did the guys I know that has just started doing it. Maybe because he is always so tense.

One of the biggest issues with massage therapy as a career is that even though you may be great at it, that doesn't make you a great business person. It is much easier in all types of business to learn from the mistakes of others rather than repeat them yourself and massagegeeks.com is a place to learn some of the ups and downs. It is an industry blog mainly intended for those looking for advice running a business in Massage Therapy as well as people that might be interested in becoming massage therapists.

Stupid Cabinets

I know it's time to start working in my kitchen soon. It doesn't seem like we have been here all that long but I guess maybe we have. Some of my cabinet hardware definitely needs to be replaced and soon. The wife is more interested in redoing the bedroom right now but I prefer to have a gleaming clean kitchen and the old cheap hardware that we have right now needs to be replaced.

Private Jet Charters

* Sponsored by New Flight Charters.

New Flight Charter is located at http://www.newflightcharters.com and is one of the most reliable and respected air charter services in the U.S. They are able to provide private citizens and corporations with the widest selection of available aircraft and flights.  They have several different options available including one-way and round-trip pricing. There are no up-front costs or membership fees required to use their services, their expert flyers carry personal FAA Airmen Certification and they have an accident free history with company values based on service and safety.

They are a Dun & Bradstreet listed company and also a registered U.S. Government contractor for VIP private air charters as well.

We have two company planes but quite often they are being serviced or out of the state and quite often we will charter a private jet such as when Hurricane Katrina came through the south and we were consistently flying people down into the Gulf area on a daily basis to help with the cleanup of different communities and get our restaurants operational again. We fed the rescue workers for free along with everyone else for quite a while but in order to do so we had to get people and equipment in place as fast as possible. We couldn't have done it without private air charters.

Getting ePerks

This is a paid review
It's always nice to save a bit of money no matter what it is that you are doing. As a consumer I like saving a couple of bucks here and there and if I can save more then that's even better, particularly if it's on something that I was planning on purchasing anyway. The main thing with me is that I have to prod myself to remember to use whatever discounts or coupons it is that I have.

ePerks is a site that is designed to save people money and offers incentives for purchasing at specific locations. They target mainly Real Estate Agents, Home Contractors and Automotive dealers.

In some cases, particularly with homes, you can save thousands of dollars and get 15-20% cash back selling or buying your home through connections made with ePerks. Search for top local professionals at their site and you will see.

I did a search in my area code for a Dodge dealer and found one that I know of that is giving away a Wii with the purchase of a car, and another that I have dealt with before that is giving away three months free gas, a Sirius satellite radio and a Sony digital camera. There are several others giving away trips, more gas and equipment. Over all it was a pretty darned big list. For more information and to search for deals yourself go on over to http://www.eperks.com

Online Betting

One of the sites that I seem to be hearing more and more about lately that has become synonymous with online sports betting is Bet365.com

bet365

Bet365 has more options to choose from when it comes to online sports booking that I have seen on any of the online gambling sites. There are many options to choose from at Bet365.com including American Football, Baseball, Boxing, Horse Racing, Rugby Union and even Tennis and Volleyball. If there is a professional sport going than you can just about guarantee that you can wager on an event over at Bet365.com

Not only can you place sport wagers on the site but they also have a fairly new online casino where you can do more than just place bets. You get to participate in online poker tournaments, play Roulette, Craps and video poker. There are many games to choose from besides these. Like Rock, Paper, Scissors? They've got it. How about Keno, always a favorite? It's there too.

If you are really into it there are currently four games with a live dealer as well. These include Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette and Sic Bo. Fancy yourself a James Bond clone? Sit right down at Baccarat and test your skill against a live dealer to see how good you really are.

As with any type of gambling, always make sure that you play responsibly and remember one thing that I learned a long time ago. Don't enter into any type of wager or game of chance with money that you aren't willing or able to lose because although you may walk out of there with a fortune you might walk away empty as well, but then again, that's just the nature of the game, isn't it? My personal preference is online poker but I also enjoy other games as well.

Taking Online Payments

One of the things I toyed with for awhile when I was first starting to let ads show up on my site and do paid posts was to accept payments online myself and knock out the middle man. I still do take direct jobs and one of the providers that provides merchant accounts on the Internet is Charge.com

Charge.com allows you to accept online payments and does all of the credit card processing for you. It works for small sites such as mine as well as larger eCommerce sites and retail stores as well. A merchant account allows you to take credit cards over the Internet, by phone, or with a credit card terminal. They also offer a shopping cart solution that takes all of the work in having to set it up off your hands and leaves you free to be creative with whatever product it is that you are selling.

Ford Blue Oval Scholars

Lots of corporations do different things with the community. Most of the time it's just to give back to the communities and occasionally it's just for the marketing value. Either way it's a good thing. One way in which the Ford Corporation has chosen to give back to the communities that it serves is with the Ford Blue Oval Scholars which is designed as a "web-based initiative that will provide Ford Motor Company Scholarship winners a place to network and share information with each other". Pretty cool. Just the fact that they are awarding scholarships is a good thing. That's something our company continues to do as well and this year we as managers are involved in the process as well.

Right now the Ford Blue Oval Scholars has a logo design contest going on. Basically if you are 16 or older you can design your own logo for the contest and the winning logo will be used as the official logo for the Ford Blue Oval Scholars program on their web site and in any materials related to Ford Blue Oval Scholars. Hows that for a bit of exposure? The top ten designs are going to be chosen by a selection panel of Ford Motor Company employees and design experts and then the Ford Blue Oval Scholars will vote online to pick the best one. All of the entries have to be in by November 1st 2007 so you have a month to get your logo in. Go check out the site for details and to download the contest materials.

Here is the current logo for the Ford Blue Oval Scholars...

Other than what I get from the news I haven't heard a lot about Ford over the last few years but right up until he passed away my Grandfather worked as a mechanic for the Ford Motor Company. I can faintly remember my mother taking me down there at one point or another when I was pretty small. I don't even remember why we were there but I do remember him and how happy I was to see him.

Silk Trees

When I was still at the office we used to have one of the ladies that would come in and although we had a maintenance staff that took care of the plants she still insisted on messing with and watering the plants on a daily basis whether they needed it or not. Eventually she killed them all off one by one.

Eventually I started noticing that the guy who ran the maintenance department substituted most of the live (now dead) plants with silk trees. They were pretty to look at and all he had to do was occasionally dust them. No matter how often the old girl watered the trees they never died after that.

Ringtones

I finally switched back to a normal ring on my cell phone, albeit a very high pitched shrill one that I can hear when I am busy at work. Prior to that I used a fairly loud version of Crazy Train that I had pulled out of an MP3 and put on my phone. I think I am going through a phase where I just don't want to do-it-myself. It's easier to get online and go to Custom Addict and download free ringtones than it is to do it myself, particularly when they are free.

I don't generally buy them from my cell phone provider, Verizon. That's one of the reasons I started making them myself, because of the cost. Custom Addict has all of the really popular ones and some others as well, such as Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed and Papa Roach. The site is pretty easy to navigate and browse the different selections by genre as well as a newest ringtone list.

Custom Addict offers a ringtone subscription package that is available on Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and Dobson and other carriers may become available in the future. Since I am possibly switching to Helio if I can find a store with a WORKING demo to play with for awhile that might be a concern of mine.

L.A. Law Blog

The Los Angeles Criminal Lawyers Blog | California Criminal Defense Law Forum is a site about criminal law and other proceedings in the Los Angeles, California area. The blog author and lawyer Dmitry Gorin is a professor at UCLA and Pepperdine Law School and frequently provides commentary on Court TV as well.

With the blog and their law firm being located in L.A. you would expect discussions on the site to pertain to recent local proceedings such as the Phil Spector trial as well as Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton's mishaps with the law and you would be 100% correct in that.

The most recent post on the site discusses reasons why the judge in the Phil Spector trial declared a mistrial when the jury was deadlocked after two weeks of deliberations.

There is also some really useful information at the site as well in categories pertaining to the high profile cases as well as the criminal process, drug offenses, juvenile court and white collar crime.

If you have the time and are interested in this stuff click here and go check out the blog.

Working at Home

Although I do quite a bit of stuff out of the house I don't know if I have the patience to consistently work at home and do it enough to make a living. I do know several people that do it in a variety of ways. One friend of mine sells Avon as well as handcrafted fashion jewelry. Another has several Internet businesses and he does really well. I think I will just stick with working for the company that I have been with for the last 21 years and make the little bit I do online. It keeps me busy and happy.
