Force Protection Team

Members of the force protection team at Camp Eggars, Afghanistan, assess damage resulting from an explosion near the gate. A vehicle-born improvised explosive device exploded near the German Embassy and a U.S. base. Eliminating threats such as the VBIED is the focus of Army's 3rd Counter-IED Conference that was scheduled July 28-30.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Justin Shine Should Be Dismembered

I've been trying really hard over the last couple of months to curb my profanity on this site, along with making sure to verify facts before I post them (aside from the obvious glaring typos and lack of grammar) and just report as accurately as I can. Just when I think I'm doing a great job at it along comes a douchebag like 26-year-old Justin P Shine from Hingham, Massachusetts.

This past Saturday afternoon the mother of a 6-year-old girl let her go outside in their apartment complex to play. Setting aside for a moment that it is a supremely stupid fucking decision let your six-year-old play unsupervised in an apartment complex, the mother did have the brains to call the police when after 20 minutes she didn't hear her daughter. Police immediately showed up and began a door to door search of the apartment complex.

Allegedly Justin Shine was inside his ex-girlfriend's apartment (he allegedly broke in) in the same building and saw the little girl through the window. Since she knew the man as a father of one of her playmates she didn't think it strange when he yelled out the window to come look at their gerbils. Once he had lured her into the apartment he bound her hands together with tape, taped her mouth shut and tied her arms as well as binding her legs with a chain.

According to police reports the girl told them that Shine injected her in the hip with a syringe and that she felt sleepy afterward. Police do have the syringe and it is being tested. According to the little girl's statement they started hearing police knocking on doors a short time later and that Shine cut the tape off of her hands, telling her to "shut up" when she started crying. He then told her that "she was not going to die today...he was". At some point after he let the girl leave. A man in the apartment complex found the little girl and took her to the police. Her feet were still shackled and she was covered in blood, Shine's blood, testing later revealed.

The girl was understandably upset and crying when she was found. She told the police officer that "The man took me". Then she showed police Shine's apartment. He was found in a bedroom covered in his own blood from a self-inflicted wound on his wrist. Shine fought with police which is where he received the black eye pictured at the top of the post, from getting hit in the head by one of the officer's gun after he lunged toward them.

In the apartment officers found the girl's bike and her Barbie helmet covered with a sleeping bag in a quick attempt to hide it.

While Shine was being treated at the hospital he told police that he had lured the girl into his apartment to rape her but had apparently had second thoughts. I guess having police beating on doors tends to do that. He also told officers he had shot up with cocaine but didn't admit to administering it on the girl.

Shine was arraigned this morning on charges of Kidnapping, Attempted Rape, Assault and Battery With a Dangerous Weapon (the syringe) and Resisting Arrest and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday. Not Guilty pleas were entered on his behalf as he didn't speak during the arraignment.

As you can see from the above screencap Justin's MySpace is set to private right now and the message on it says "justin leave my family and friends out of this please respect everyone at this difficult time - Jessica Shine". Jessica is Justin's sister and got rid of his profile to make it less likely that they will get messed with. I haven't and most likely won't try to contact any of the family for questions, although they are always welcome to contact me at rm_blogger@yahoo.com or leave a comment here, even anonymously if they want.

Aside from the emotional scarring that this little girl is going to have to deal with, it's too bad this happened in Massachusetts where this fucktard will probably be back on the streets in a few short years.

Update - I mentioned when I first posted this that Shine would be having his 'dangerousness' hearing today. Basically a bond hearing. Luckily a judge in Massachusetts has a brain and denied bond for the man even though his attorney William Leonard claimed that this was a one-time aberration and asked for $5,000 bail. District Court Judge Ronald Moynahan said that releasing Shine into society would be 'akin to terror'.

The little girl has tested positively for cocaine, which Justin Shine injected her with while he held her prisoner.

I will try and update this as more information comes to light.

Robert Knight Had Issues With His Girlfriend

Around the middle of this past week maintenance men at the West Bay Apartments in Columbus, Ohio made a gruesome discovery in their pond and one of the dumspters...body parts. Police, staff from the Coroner's Office and anthropologists from Ohio State University all joined in the search for the rest of the dismembered body that was scattered throughout the complex, in the pond, trash bins and even in the brush around the complex.

Police won't say what led them to Robert Knight's apartment but once they arrived and he allowed them to search the place they found a head and both arms stuffed in his freezer.

The body belonged to Tracey Moore, Knight's girlfriend, who was no stranger to his violence. Apparently this three-time loser had stabbed his girlfriend back in February of 2008 and punched her in the head after pushing her to the ground. When the case went to trial Tracey Moore never showed up and the charges were dismissed. This time around Knight finished the job he started last February.

Fifty-year-old Robert Knight has been in and out of jail in Ohio since 1979 on charges ranging from breaking and entering to kidnapping and assault. Let's hope this piece of trash doesn't get out this time.

Judging from the fact that Knight dumped his girlfriend's body parts scattered around the apartment complex, so close to where he lived, he knew he would get caught. Perhaps he was even counting on it.

Zion Duprey is Missing

Deleware State Police are investigating the abduction of five-year-old Zion Duprey of Lincoln, DE and have issued an Amber Alert. Zion has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue jean shorts to his knees and a blue shirt with white designs. He is around 25lbs and 2'3". The suspect in his disapearance is his father Angel D. Duprey. Angel is a 30-year-old Hispanic man from Philadelphia. He is 6'2" 165lbs with brown hair. He was last see wearing no shirt, blue jeans and has tattoos around his neck. UPDATED - A picture of Angel is below.

An active protection from abuse order was issued on June 19th from Pennsylvania which prohibits him from having any contact with his girlfriend or their three children. Obviously he didn't let a piece of paper stop him when he entered the home of Zion's Grandmother shortly after noon today and snatched his son.

The were last seen in a blue 1995 Buick Lasabre with a white top possibly with a tag number HFH0835 or a partial Pennsylvania plate number containing HDM87. They were last seen heading south on Rust Road in Lincoln, possibly heading toward Philadelphia. Anyone with information pertaining to the abduction or the whereabouts of the two are asked to contact police at Troop 4, 302-856-5850, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333

Mark Musselwhite Got Nekked

It's getting to where a grown man can't sit around nekked drinking a beer anymore in the privacy of his own home anymore. Hell, I might be nekked as I write this, having worked all day. Oh, wait a minute. Former Mayor of Gainesville Georgia, Mark Musselwhite, wasn't in the privacy of his own home when he was arrested. Then I guess I'll have to take back at least part of what what I said.

Police in Rabun County got a call last weekend about a man walking down Earls Ford Road, buck naked. Department of Natural Resources Park Ranger Brandon Walls, accompanied by Rabun County Deputy Sheriff, paid a visit to the campsite of 43-year-old Mark Musselwhite yesterday and found him intoxicated and naked. According to the accounts I've read there were severeal alcoholic beverages and an unidentified female at the campsite.Musselwhite didn't seem to think he was doing anything wrong. When the deputy and park ranger approached him he said "Hello" and asked them why he was being visited.

Musselwhite served on the Gainseville city council for six years as well as having been mayor and he lost a bid for a state senate seat back in 2006. He has also served as a deacon for the First Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Musselwhite has been charged with public indecency. You can find the DNR incident report here. A public indencency charge probably wouldn't be the end of the world but once you start trying to throw around non-existent political clout and get beligerent with the cops...Most likely not a good move on his part.

Krystal Whitehead Forgot the Baby

What is it about summertime that has women leaving their children in locked cars in the hot sun? This is the third story of this ilk that I've posted in just the last month.

Krystal Whitehead had to pick up some hair coloring stuff from a beauty supply store last week. It was probably a quick trip in and out but she thought enough to pull her 11-year-old daughter out of the car to take inside with her, but left her 5-month-old son locked in the car with the windows cracked.

A Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy was patrolling the area and was alerted to the little boy by a shopper in the parking lot. The deputy found the baby in the car and got him out, summoning paramedics. In the meantime Krystal had gotten word that police were in the parking lot, which amazingly enough jogged her memory to the fact that she had forgotten her son.

The baby is OK. He was taken to the hospital and checked out, while his mother was arrested on charges of cruelty to children. I don't know if she has gotten out on her $22k bond yet but as of this past Wednesday she was still sitting in the Forsyth County Jail.

Israel Mireles Back in the United States

Back in late 2007 I wrote about the murder of Emily Sander. Aside from the fact that it was a heinous murder in the first place, the murder got a lot of media play due to the fact that Emily doubled online as soft-porn model Zoey Zane.

Sander's accused murderer, Israel Mireles, fled to Mexico where he was arrested in December 2007 where he has remained in custody until just recently. The Mexican government finally extradited Mireles back to the U.S. and he made his first court appearance in El Dorado, Kansas earlier today. The video below is from his court hearing.

The County Attorney has asked that Mireles bond be raised to $3 million due to the fact that he is an escape threat and his preliminary hearing has been set for July 8th, although that will most likely be continued. He has been charged with Murder, Rape and Aggravated Criminal Sodomy and since prosecutors had to agree not to pursue the death penalty he faces life in prison if convicted.

Christopher Gray Needs a Clue...

30-year-old Christopher J Gray from Marlborough, MA decided to make a bit of money on the side selling cannabis. That's all fine and dandy. While I don't smoke pot I really could care less what adults do in the privacy of their own home as long as it's not around kids and they act responsibly. That having been said, I think that perhaps Christopher could have found a better way to deal his illegal drugs than to advertise on Craigslist...

That's right, Chris took out an ad on Craigslist with the words "420 help is here". The description said to "give me a ring if you need some help" and listed his phone number, which a detective promptly called last Friday. After meeting with Gray and purchasing a small bag of pot for $45 police arrested Gray. One of the long-term effects from heavy marijuana use is memory loss. Maybe now he'll remember that potheads aren't the only ones that know what 420 is.

Janesia Williams Made a Mistake...

...and she's damned lucky it didn't cost the lives of her two children.

It's been pretty hot here in Georgia the last couple of days. I think it got up to about 96 yesterday and today, at least in my area, and the temperatures I saw around the state in the weather forecast looked pretty similar. It sucks to work all day in a hot kitchen and then have to go outside in the hot air for a smoke or when it was time to go home. I had to let the air run in my car for several minutes this afternoon prior to heading home. I couldn't imagine leaving a pet or one of my children in a hot car, which is exactly what Janesia Williams did Saturday in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Ellenwood.

She had some shopping to do and I guess Janesia didn't want to be bothered with her two four-month-old twins while grocery shopping, so she left them in the hot car. For 30 minutes. What kind of fucktard leaves their babies in the car ANYTIME of the year, much less in the heat of the Georgia summer?

That's exactly what the Clayton County Police department thought as well when they arrested Janesia on charges of Child Cruelty. As of this morning she was still being held without bond and although that may have changed I hope she spends some quality time in a hot fucking cell, the stupid bitch. Assuming she is convicted she needs to spend her time locked in a car with only the window cracked, surrounded by 20 acres of hot blacktop in 96 degree heat.

Happy Father's Day

Just a quick post before I go to work this morning because it's not as if I've been overflowing with news updates the last couple of weeks...Hope everyone has a great Father's Day. Since I was off yesterday the kids made me breakfast and my parents drove out here for supper. We've gotten used to changing holidays to whatever day I happen to be off.

Anyway, here are a few links to some not so nice dads out there. Someone should have thrown a little chlorine into the gene pool before they were conceived.

Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter aka Clark Rockefeller was found guilty a week ago of kidnapping his daughter and, oh by the way, may have murdered a couple in California back in the '80s.

Joshua Sawyer and his wife Brandy basically beat to death his five-year-old daughter Carly.

Ricardo Luna of Austin, Texas kicked his two-year-old daughter in the face after an argument with his girlfriend, the douchebag.

Jesus Martinez pleaded guilty last week to punching his 7-month-old son in the belly which caused fatal injuries back in 2007.

Here's to hoping that everyone has an uneventful and crime-free Father's Day.

Cesar Laurean Pleads Not Guilty

Cesar Laurean, the man accused of killing 20-year-old Marine Maria Lauterbach in 2007 showed up briefly in court this week and entered a plea of "Not Guilty". While the prosecutor's office is not very happy about it the judge set a tentative trial date of March 2010 because Laurean's defense attorney claims to have eight pending murder trials between now and then.

Ernest Vereen Had a Grudge

Men can be funny at times, but then again I guess women can too. Grudge sex is one of the really funny things people do. You might be angry with your ex or maybe your current girlfriend or spouse but being angry with them doesn't preclude sex. Hell, it can occasionally be better than just normal sex. Then you run into someone like Ernest N Vereen Jr in Tampa, FL who take grudge fucking to an entirely different level.

Back on Sunday Ernest's ex-girlfriend went to his house and they proceeded to get into an argument. Rather than just throwing her the hell out Ernest decided it would be more appropriate to hold the woman captive for two days; beating, raping and sodomizing the woman. She managed to escape on Tuesday and walked almost a mile to a gas station where she could call for help.

It took a couple of days before U.S. Marshals and the local police could find Ernest but find him they did and now the shitheel is locked up in the Orient Road jail in Hillsborough County. He is being held with no bond on three charges of sexual battery, kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Ernest is no stranger to the police either, having been convicted previously for child abuse and aggravated battery.

Amber Alert for Ingrid Reyes

A Levi's Call (Amber Alert) was issued on Wednesday morning for 4-year-old Ingrid Ghisell Guzman-Reyes who was kidnapped by her father and may be in extreme danger according to the authorities. She was last seen in Larenceville, Ga in the company of her father.

From what I have been able to gather 29-year-old Alejandro Humberto Guzman (I've seen it spelled Gusman as well) was in town for a scheduled visit with his daughter. He was supposed to drop Ingrid off with her mother (Also Ingrid Reyes) at her workplace. He called her instead on Monday and told her that he was keeping the girl and going to Houston. I have also seen conflicting reports (links at the bottom of the post) that Guzman called Reyes on Tuesday or Wednesday threatening to kill their little girl. According to CBSAtlanta the family of the little girl told them that Guzman had threatened to kill her unless they gave him $5,000

The two may be traveling in a gray 1993 Honda Accord with Texas plates NCK136.

Ingrid is about 3' tall, 30 pounds, Hispanic, has brown eyes and straight shoulder length brown hair and was last seen wearing pajama bottoms and a pink barbie shirt.

Guzman is 29, Hispanic with Black eyes, brown hair, 5'10", 180 pounds and keeps his hair short on top and long on the sides. He also usually wears a blue baseball cap with a "T" on it.

Wednesday Hero: Navy Seal Marc A. Lee

Navy SEAL August 2, 2006

"Marc was amazing. He was my best friend, my love," his widow, Maya, said.

Petty Officer Marc A. Lee joined the Navy in 2001 and became an AO after completing Naval Air Technical Training. Later that year he attempted to complete the grueling BUD/S program but caught pneumonia and had to drop out. He tried again in 2004 and completed the course.

On August 2, 2006, Marc A. Lee became the first SEAL to be killed in combat in Iraq when he was fatally wounded in a firefight in Ramadi, Iraq. The following is from the award citation:

"During the operation, one element member was wounded by enemy fire. The element completed the casualty evacuation, regrouped and returned onto the battlefield to continue the fight. Petty Officer Lee and his SEAL element maneuvered to assault an unidentified enemy position. He, his teammates, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Abrams tanks engaged enemy positions with suppressive fire from an adjacent building to the north.

"To protect the lives of his teammates, he fearlessly exposed himself to direct enemy fire by engaging the enemy with his machine gun and was mortally wounded in the engagement. His brave actions in the line of fire saved the lives of many of his teammates"

"It was so like Marc to give up his life to save his friends," his mother, Debbie Lee, told the Hood River News. "I am so proud of him. He is my hero."

Petty Officer Lee was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star with combat "V" for his actions in Iraq during his team's combat tour and the Purple Heart medal.
