Tricia, yeah I did get off on a tangent. I realized it right after I hit the publish button and by then it was time to go to work so I never fixed it :)
Oh yeah, it is a Clematis by the way. I don't know what the heck I was calling it a Bougainvillea for. Even when you don't count the serious lack of thorns the flowers aren't really similar either.
- On 'Photohunt Saturday':
Congrats on 40 years! That's amazing. We're celebrating 20 on the 28th ourselves, thus the trip to Disney.
- On 'Hilton to Face Death Penalty in Florida':
That's true. I made the same comment on here back in January when I started writing about Meredith Emerson. Bad guys and dead people. Sort of like when your mom is pissed at you. RICHARD HARRISON MILES what the hell were you thinking!? I always knew I was in trouble.
- On 'Glutton for Punishment':
I don't know that they are great anywhere. What's sad is that since they think so little about the educators that the good ones (and probably most of the mediocre ones as well) choose to live elsewhere. I suppose there are still some good teachers though but in general you get what you pay for.
- On 'FLDS Polygamy Ranch Sealed':
That's what makes this such a hard decision. I do have a hard time supporting a government that thinks so little of it's citizen's civil liberties. I do think that they should have gone in like they did but I don't agree with removing all of the children from the compound until and unless they actually have proof of abuse of those specific children. Certainly if they are pregnant that would constitute enough reason, but what about the others?
- On 'FLDS Polygamy Ranch Sealed':
Archie, I agree with you 100%. I think the lifespan factor is what proponents of having sex with children are ignoring. Not only is our life span a minimum of twice what it was only a couple of hundred years ago, but believe it or not children are maturing much later than they did. Back then you were considered ready for child birthing shortly after you started bleeding and everyone started working at a much younger age, expecting to have a full family by the time they were in their late teens.
- On 'FLDS Polygamy Ranch Sealed':
Just because the terrorist ragheads in Palestine hide behind their wives and children while they fight doesn't make it right. Plain and simple it's cowardly and wrong. Fucking a 13 year old when you are 50 is pedophilia whether the rest of your society thinks it's OK or not. It's just wrong, plain and simple and anyone that can even entertain the idea has some serious issues.
I agree that the government has no place whatsoever interfering with anyone's religion but the fact is that religions cannot cross the line into other people's generally accepted human rights. Just because you are raised to believe something is right doesn't make it so.
- On 'FLDS Polygamy Ranch Sealed':
And that's a bad thing why, filme?

Sounds to me like you are the only racist here. Not only that but you need to learn some Internet etiquette. While you are taking manners classes see if they have a dictionary as well as a book on grammar. Troll douchebag.

Karen, very much looking forward to the Disney trip. We took the kids a couple of years ago but I think that my youngest is old enough (how's that?) to really appreciate it.
Tracy Lynn, I though about hypnosis but was afraid that i would end up at work with my pants on my head barking like a chicken.

Yeah, I tried that earlier, then ended up re-uploading the entire installation. I think it must be one of the plugins I am using but I could have sworn I had written a couple of entries since I created the forums at armchairdetectives.net
I actually seems like it might be a permissions setting. I'm going to look at my directory permissions and make sure my host didn't change anything.

- On 'Second Suspect Arrested in UNC Murder':
Certainly not. It is unfortunately still very prevalent in society. The problem lies when people find racism where there is none. Dude, I hate it that we had slavery, it's an awful fact of life. It's also an awful fact of life that there are horrific things going on in Africa right now. Bloodbaths and genocide by the very descendants of the same black people that sold their brothers into slavery.
I hate the fact that my ancestors owned slaves but that doesn't change the fact that I have never owned slaves and have a firm belief in the diversity of our country. All in fairness though, if you can find anyone alive that I or my ancestors ever owned I will be more than happy to pay them reparations. Until then all you folks shouting about it need to shut the fuck up.
- On 'Chorus Concert':
No problem.
- On 'Second Suspect Arrested in UNC Murder':
You are the biggest fucking racist I've had over here in a while. Did Eve Carson's family own slaves? Who gives a fuck you retarded half-human piece of shit? If her ancestors were the biggest slave-owning family in the south how would that make it her fault or in any way excuse the sorry sacks of shit that killed her?
As far as privileged white flaunt, that sounds like something somebody made up to excuse them from behaving poorly. It's like saying that a rape is the victim's fault because of what they are wearing. There may be things that you can do to lessen or increase the chance of harm, but that in no way excuses rape or murder.
Attitudes like those on the websites you linked to, along with people like Al Sharpton and the Right Reverand Jessie Jackson are what keep racism fresh in the minds of young black people more so than anything any white person could say and do.
- On 'Gary Michael Hilton indicted in Florida slaying':
I am hoping that Florida gives him death, but I wonder if he has to serve out the whole sentence here before becoming property of the State of Florida?

- On 'Tripp Isenhour Kicks Ass!':
No doubt.
- On 'Lifelock':
Of course they are. Even lifelock tells you they are free. The benefit to using them is that unless you are like me and too darn cheap to spend the money, most people are more than willing to just pay and have it taken care of for them.
Just look at what a nanny state we've become for a great example. People would rather bury their head in the sand and let mommy take care of them than to stand up for what's right, particularly if it's harder on them. The same goes for private business as well. We have bceome a fast-food society in more ways than one.

Peter, it is pretty small. I figure a couple of goldfish and maybe a water plant or two. It's there mostly as an addition. The entire area has huge Elephant Ears and Cala Lillies in the summer and the water feature sets it off along with some LED rope lights.
- On 'Green Thumb Sunday':
I thought the Dr. Pepper was nice as well. I think perhaps we missed something after the last time the Marine was here.
- On 'Green Thumb Sunday':
Tricia, it's really a tiny pond. My entire yard is about a third of an acre and most of that I haven't done anything with yet.
- On 'Green Thumb Sunday':
Sorry it took so long to reply, Deb. Yes, I do have a larger pond about 20 yards away. It's been there for five years or so and looks much better since the plant life has had the chance to take hold. I have goldfish in that one. Had Koi at one time but they seem to be more needy than the cheap old goldfish.

No offense or anything but the folks in my blogroll are people I visit. Sometimes not often but I do visit and like the sites or they have sponsored the blog in one way or another. I might like your site very much but it's pretty fucking rude to come over and insist that I add you to my blogroll.
In other words, kiss my ass.
- On 'Cesar Laurean in Mexico? He Spoke With Attorney Before He Fled':
I meant to answer the last part as well, about the rape.
All of the reports are still there. Nobody has reported them missing and nobody has gotten rid of them. While the Marines could have moved a bit faster on it, civil rape cases sometimes move even slower. The prosecution and defense take forever to have their cases ready. From what I understand, she complained about harrasment on the base, as well as having her car keyed, as you mention. I don't know that she took pictures of the car but other than filing a police report, what are you going to do about having your car keyed? Shit happens and there's no way of figuring out who keyed your car.
According to the Naval investigators there was no evidence to support her claim of rape, but her regimental commander felt like there was enough for a hearing. Perhaps he felt that just the way Laurean acted would be enough to prove that he raped her. Either way, the hearing was moving forward and was actually scheduled to take place shortly after she was reported missing, one of the reasons Laurean may have acted when he did.
- On 'Cesar Laurean in Mexico? He Spoke With Attorney Before He Fled':
Some of them don't make sense, maybe one or two of the items I can clear up.
Although she had accused him of raping her, if he had offered her money or some other type of settlement she might have been willing to go meet with him, or he may have forced her to go to her house. It was mentioned in a couple of stories that she went to his house, left to buy the bus ticket, and then returned to the house. I personally think that he forced her to buy the ticket.
Video cameras at Greyhound? Have you ever ridden Greyhound? The station in Atlanta might or might not have a couple but there certainly aren't any cameras in the terminal area. and there are so many people you wouldn't have seen anything anyway. Greyhound stations, while favored by a lot of the military for it's cheapness (that's how my son and most of his buddies got back and forth from home to Camp LeJeune) it is favored by quite a few of the 'unwashed masses'. Bums, homeless, jobless, people down on their luck, etc. Each of the stations in metropolitan areas have quite a few homeless and bums hanging around asking for handouts and smokes. The last time I picked up my son it was pouring down rain and cold and there were still 15-20 of them wandering around asking for change.
The military did say she was missing and did look for her. While they do search and check their living premises, the don't generally go out and comb the countryside looking for bodies. It happens too often for them to do something like that.
From everything I have read, his wife wasn't in on it until after the fact. I have wondered myself why she wasn't in jail. She did help paint over the blood, she had to know that the girl had been killed in her house. It is entirely possible that she believed the girl had killed herself there as Laurean said, at least initially. Since he had been accused of rape several months before, it is probable that he had been filling his wife with lies for several months. If he kept referring to the 'crazy girl', then suicide is just one more step down that road. As far as no charges being filed, I have to assume that she has been given immunity in exchange for her testimony against him.
The cousin didn't say there were any friends. He said that Laurean claimed to be there with friends, obviously he lied.
I haven't read anything about a BBQ, do you have a link to that so that I can see what they have to say?

Pretty much :)
That's OK, I was in a rush and once I actually looked at the title of the entry I realized that I had too many "o"s at the end as well.
- On 'New Evidence in the Natalee Holloway Case':
Thanks for letting me know. I have actually posted a couple of updates and some other posts but apparently there are some issues that my web host thinks don't exist,
Hopefully something will get published here before the weekend is out :)
- On 'Illegal Immigrants Packing It In...':
Actually folks in Arizona and Texas have been making a huge deal about it for several years and the new rules for employers were overwhelmingly approved by a majority of Arizona voters.
Part of the problem IS the employers. Not most of it but if we dry up their sources of income they tend to leave. Funny how that works, ain't it.
- On 'Holloway Suspect Wrote Teen Was Dead...':
Saying that there was no evidence is pretty misleading. There is evidence but unfortunately it is all circumstantial. You are right in that he doesn't think he can get a conviction without a body.
4 hours? That's plenty of time to get rid of a body. I live in a small town myself and it would prove much easier here or another small community than a larger city.
One of the witnesses is an unnamed female friend who said that one of the three called her about five hours after Natalee disappeared and would not tell her what was wrong, stating that 'he didn't want to cause her any trouble and could not discuss it over the phone'. That in itself is certainly not even close to an admission to anything but once you combine the rest of the circumstantial evidence it makes them look dirty as hell.
Joran was not arrested until 10 days after her disappearance. While he may have been in temporary custody the next morning he was not arrested until almost two weeks later, on June 9th if I recall.
You could not have seen the interview I was referring to since it was an interview with Joran by the police, not some interview with the dumbasses of the media. If you search over at Diario the scanned transcript signed by Joran and witnessed by four police officers is available there for your perusal.
My personal opinion is that one or both of the Kalpoes probably raped her and in the process killed her, possibly by accident and Joran is aware of it. I don't know what it's called in Aruba but when you knowingly hide a murder committed by someone here in the states it makes you an accessory to the crime, whether after the fact or not.

Part of the CNN article I quoted earlier stated that they had already filmed the fourth season. I don't know if the writer's strike affects Nick anyway, but if so that would probably put a bigger crimp in the schedule than her pregnancy

I love Callaway. As a teenager my parents took me a couple of times. They have a really neat Christmas light setup this time of year and I have been thinking about making the drive south with the girls to check them out next weekend. It's the Georgia Christmas Lights Festival and is supposed to be beautiful. Something like 8 million lights. And I thought I had a lot of Christmas lights!

No problem Joel, I did add you to the blogroll by the way.
- On 'Joran van der Sloot to Remain in Jail':
Grace, do you have any proof or data to back up your claims that the boy is innocent? He very well may be but for an innocent man he's certainly acted guilty from the get-go.
It may not be the "right" thing to do but it IS Aruban (and Dutch) law.
Where do you know Joran and his family from?
Sounds like you had a pretty rough time, I'm glad you made it out OK.
What rude things did Natalee have to say to them in the car?
Teenagers always say bad things about their parents, calling her mother Little Hitler is nothing new to a parent, particularly if you have any discipline at all in your house. That's the nature of having kids.

I used to ride a Honda Shadow 1100. The one I totaled was a teeny tiny 350, which I think was part of the problem. I hit a patch of gravel in the rain going around a curve and although the road curved I kept going straight.
Got right back on and road another five miles to work before I went into shock. I apparently bent the frame and front forks along with the rear wheel. Didn't even know it until later when I got back outside after it had stopped raining to look at the bike. I was pretty damned lucky.

You don't happen to remember the error message do you? I've had several people complain about getting an error over the last couple of weeks but nobody can tell me what the error is.
